Theatre
The Theater Arts at Blue Ridge Christian School recognize God as the “Master Artist” who created and deemed His creation good (Genesis 1). As a God-given gift, theater invites our students to delve deeper into His world, and the “stage” provides us the opportunity to “grow in empathy and understanding of God’s image bearers” (Lori French). As a form of storytelling, the dramatic arts point to the big-picture narrative of scripture—the cross and the centrality of Christ in everything we do.
Our upper school students have the opportunity to participate in a regular rotation of theater classes, one-act festivals, full-length spring productions–including musical theater, and drama clubs. At the lower school, children look forward to our annual 4th-grade The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, summer theater camp, classroom plays, and various stage opportunities in chapel.
