Spiritual Formation

The Blue Ridge Christian School experience teaches students to “take every thought captive for Christ.”

We are

Rooted

in Christ.

Spiritual Formation is our foundation at Blue Ridge Christian School.

Built on our Biblically-centered foundational documents, Biblical truth and spiritual formation are immersed into everything we do. Our program includes daily Bible class, weekly chapels, global and local missions opportunities (add link to missions page), apologetics training, student-led worship, prayer buddies, student Deacons, class discussions, and scripture memorization, ensuring students build a strong foundation for a Biblical worldview.

Chapel

  • Weekly Chapels: Chapels incorporate student-led worship, teaching, Bible study and discussion. Pastors, missionaries, and special guests share messages with the students.
  • House Meetings: Middle and High school students meet in their House “floors”. These “floors” are small groups led by student House Deacons and Faculty Advisors. These small groups cultivate students’ walks with Christ through discipleship, prayer, accountability, and personal application of Scripture.
  • Prayer Buddies: In the Lower School, 6th grade students, under the guidance of a faculty member, serve as small group leaders once a month during chapel time. These groups bring together students from Kindergarten-6th grade. Students lead in prayer and devotion.

  • Service: BRCS students are faithful in service, both locally and globally. Students and staff participate in service opportunities from Preschool-12th grade. Throughout the year, students serve at nearly 30 different locations in our area. As they plant flowers, wash fire trucks, sort donations at local food banks or visit our elderly neighbors, they learn to share the love of Christ.
