Community
We are family.
One thing that sets BRCS apart is the strong sense of community you’ll find here. We have over 80+ Bible-believing churches represented in our school body, but we are all united around our core foundational beliefs and our shared desire to learn and grow in Christ. We are very intentional in building ways to nurture community, both during the school day and outside of school hours. Whether it’s on the basketball court, at a music concert, in the hallways, or simply enjoying one of the many school events throughout the year, the joy is palpable and our amazing community is at the heart of it.
Building positive relationships is an important skill to learn and takes intentionality and trust. Clear communication, chapels, class socials, time-honored traditions, retreats and being part of a cross-generational (multi-grade) team through our House system, athletics or the arts helps to foster these strong relationships.
Retreats
Retreats are an important part of the BRCS experience and help each student feel integrated into the BRCS community. Each year, our high school students go on a two night retreat, middle school goes on a one night retreat, and 5th-6th grades go on a day retreat. Team building is a main focus at retreats and teaches students how to develop God-glorifying relationships with others, with creation, and with themselves. Many also leave the retreat with a deeper relationship with the Lord. What a great way to start a new school year!
Socials
Homecoming and Jr./Sr. Formal are student-organized events that encourage social relationships in a safe, God-honoring setting. Relationship guidelines as well as guest and dress policies ensure a healthy and enjoyable experience for all participants.
Traditions
BRCS traditions are key components to our strong community and foster relationships amongst our students and parents alike. Our favorite traditions include spirit weeks, Thanksgiving treats, Grandparent’s Day, Pastor Appreciation Day, Fall Celebration, parades, retreats, school lock-ins, school-wide Christmas activities and a myriad of other events throughout the year. All of these components help create the joy that permeates the halls of BRCS.
