We are cultivating leaders.

BRCS cultivates leaders who can be confident world-changers for Christ.

We do this by recognizing, celebrating and developing each student’s God-given gifts. Leadership begins with small steps in preschool and grows to opportunities like Leader Lab, Prayer Buddies, National Honor Society, Student Government, Deacon Leadership within our House program and the Senior Capstone project. Teachers also work with students on self advocacy, organization, and presentation skills, equipping them for success in whatever path they choose.

Student Government

Student Government provides an excellent way for students to develop leadership skills while they channel enthusiasm for their school. Our SGA class representatives and leadership go through an interview process, provide character references, and are elected by their peers. SGA leadership consists of a President and Cabinet. In 2023, they established and passed a new student constitution. They hold weekly meetings and serve on the Outreach, Finance, or Activities Committee.

House Deacons

Our House System is an intergenerational model for spiritual development & community building for 7th-12th grade. Each house will typically have about 25 students, a male and female faculty advisor, and a male and female “House Deacon.” The word “deacon” is derived from the Greek word for servant–emphasizing our desire to form servant leaders. The student Deacons are upperclassmen who, under the guidance of their faculty advisors, help plan events, encourage, and lead their houses in Bible studies and team activities. These house activities help cultivate the student’s walk with Christ through discipleship, prayer, accountability, and personal application of Scripture.

Prayer Buddies

Prayer Buddies start in elementary school and carry through 12th grade. In the Lower School, 6th grade students, under the guidance of a faculty member, serve as small group leaders for their younger peers. Students lead their small groups in prayer, devotions, and application of Scripture. Prayer buddies also support spiritual formation.

Leader Lab

Leader Lab helps our upper elementary students step into leadership. Students will learn and practice the characteristics of a leader, participate in weekly service & stewardship projects around the school, and finish up the year with a mission trip.
