Proven Academics
Our goal for each student is to provide them with the experiences and tools they need to be successful beyond BRCS.
Academic Competitions
At BRCS, academic opportunities and competitions extend the learning experience beyond the classroom. Competitions also celebrate students’ individual strengths, interests and personal growth.

Academic Assessments
Though BRCS does not participate with SOLs, we conduct nationally normed annual assessments for all grade levels. These assessments do not reflect on the individual student but rather as an aggregate to ensure we are providing the highest quality instruction across all subject areas. The assessments are used to direct curriculum improvements.
- Kindergarten – 10th grade students take the Iowa Assessment annually. BRCS consistently exceeds state and national averages.
- 10th-11th grade students take the PSAT.
- 11th-12th grade students take the SAT and/or ACT. Students will also take the AP Exam if they are enrolled in an AP course.
200 + BRCS average SAT score is consistently 200+ points above the national average.
3.5 2022 AP English Exam average was 3.5
