Lynette Ellis
Kindergarten Teacher
Lynette holds a MS in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology from JMU and a BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Old Dominion University. She also directed an in-home preschool for 5 years. Lynette joined BRCS in 2020.

Stephanie Shifflett
Kindergarten Teacher
Stephanie has eight years of teaching experience prior to BRCS. She holds an M.A.T and B.S. from James Madison University. Stephanie is also a BRCS mom and joined BRCS in 2021

Jae Hoeksema
Kindergarten Assistant
Jae homeschooled her children for the past nine years while her family lived overseas. She holds a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences from West Virginia University. Her children will join the BRCS community in Preschool, Kindergarten, Seventh and Tenth Grades staring in 2022.

Lorie Turner
Kindergarten Aide
Lorie has been a parent at BRCS since 2015. Prior to BRCS, she worked as teacher assistant for Rockingham County Schools. Lorie has a Bachelors of Science in Social Work from Liberty University.

Tabitha Lookabill
First Grade Teacher
Tabitha brings unique elementary teaching experiences to BRCS, including a year in Japan, 3 years in Georgia, 3 years at a local private school and a year of homeschooling her children. She holds a B.A. from Covenant College. Tabitha also has three children attending BRCS and joined BRCS in 2021.

Becca Stables
First Grade Teacher
Becca is a graduate of James Madison University with a major in art and a minor in K-12 Education. Becca and her family served with Young Life in Scotland prior to her teaching at BRCS. She has two children at BRCS and one alumnus. She joined BRCS in 2016.

Terry Cramer
Second Grade Teacher
Terry is a master teacher with 30 years of classroom experience, including 4 years teaching second grade when she first came to BRCS. She also taught many of the rising second graders when they were in kindergarten in 2020-21. Terry holds a B.A. from Bridgewater College. She also is a proud parent of a BRCS alumna.

Emily Lohr
Second Grade Teacher
Emily has four years of teaching experience in second grade in Augusta County. She holds an M.A.T and B.S in Elementary Education from James Madison University. She and her husband are the parents of a future BRCS Bear.

Leah Conrad
Third Grade teacher
Leah served BRCS as a substitute teacher and kindergarten assistant in 2021. She holds a B.S. in Communications and History from Eastern Mennonite University. Three of her children will be attending BRCS and she has one future BRCS Bear at home.

Cristy Wheelbarger
Third Grade Teacher
Cristy came to BRCS in 2021 with 19 years of teaching experience in Page County, including 16 years in Third Grade. Cristy is also a JV Volleyball Coach.

Carol Hilliard
Fourth Grade Teacher
Carol is a graduate of Bridgewater College with a BA in Elementary Education. She began teaching at BRCS in 2009 and has had two children attend BRCS.

Ann Musselman
5th Grade Language Arts and 6th Grade Math Teacher
Ann is a 21-year veteran of Christian schools in Georgia and Virginia. She holds a B.S. from Stephen F. Austin University and an M.S. in Education from Walden University. She joined BRCS in 2021.

Beth Rice
Fifth Grade Math and Science Teacher
Beth is a graduate of Liberty University with a BS in Health and Physical Education and minor in Secondary Education. Beth joined BRCS in 2016.

Dawn Terrell
Fifth Grade Teacher
Dawn is a graduate of Bryan College with a BS in Elementary Education and a Minor in Biblical Studies. She joined BRCS 2014 and is the mom of three BRCS students/alumnus.

Matthew McDonald
Sixth Grade Teacher
Matthew teaches Sixth Grade History, Bible and Science. He has 2 years of middle school teaching experience at Christian schools in Northern Virginia. Mr. McDonald holds a B.A. from Cedarville University and an M. Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He joined BRCS in 2021 and is the father of a future Bear.

Michelle Schmidt
Sixth Grade Teacher
Michelle teaches Sixth Grade Language Arts. She has 14 years of teaching experience, primarily in middle school language arts, in Christian schools and public schools in Virginia and Pennsylvania. Michelle holds a B.A. from Grove City College. Michelle joined BRCS in 2021 and has three children who also attend.

Joan Gardner
Elementary Assistant
Joan joined BRCS in 2021 after many years of experience working in area schools as a music teacher and a classroom assistant. She holds a BS in Music Education from Old Dominion University and a Master’s of Music Education from JMU. Joan is a former BRCS parent and a current grandparent.
