A School Year Full of Promise

A School Year Full of Promise

There’s nothing quite like the beginning of a new school year. It’s a fresh start, and the optimism and excitement that students and teachers bring each day is energizing. The days are brimming with possibility. This year, our 28th at Blue Ridge Christian School, feels particularly full of promise. For the first time, we are a full Preschool-12th grade program. In June, we will graduate the Class of 2018, our first class of seniors at our new high school. With 273 total students, we have our largest enrollment in the school’s history. We welcomed 74 new students on August 22, and that number is already growing during the first few weeks of school. God is moving in mighty ways at BRCS. It’s evident not only in our growth, though we see this huge enrollment increase as a blessing. He’s also moving in the strong relationships that are already forming among new and returning families. He’s moving in the high levels of participation in BRCS summer family gatherings, camps and volunteer events. He’s moving in the increased number of businesses who want to partner with us as sponsors. He’s moving in the gospel-driven outreach efforts of our high schoolers who are inviting friends to join them for the Alpha video series this fall.

As He moves, we want to move with Him. We continue to develop our plans to renovate the Shenandoah Valley Electric Co-op building in Mt. Crawford, with the hope of opening our high school at the new campus in August 2018. We continue to share our vision with community members who have a heart for excellent Christian education. In all of it, we continue to seek God’s direction for our future, trusting that “A man’s heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps’ (Prov.16:9). We are grateful to be co-laborers with you in building God’s kingdom here at BRCS!
